About Free Subscription Tracker

Why we built this

After Mint shut down in 2024, millions of people lost their free subscription tracking tool. The alternatives that replaced it either cost $10–$15/month, require linking your bank account, or demand you create an account and hand over your email. We thought that was ridiculous for something as simple as tracking a few recurring charges.

So we built Free Subscription Tracker — a tool that does one thing well and respects your privacy while doing it.

How it works

Your subscription data stays on your device. When you add a subscription, it's saved to your browser's local storage — the same place websites store preferences and settings. It never gets sent to a server, a database, or any third party. We literally have no way to see what you've entered.

This means your data is as safe as your device. If you clear your browser data, it's gone. That's why we include an export/import feature — so you can back up your data as a JSON file whenever you want.

How we keep it free

This site is supported by ads served through Google AdSense. These ads use cookies to show you relevant advertising — this is standard across most free websites. You can opt out of personalized ads through Google Ads Settings. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

We chose ads over a subscription model because it felt wrong to charge people a monthly fee for a tool that helps them stop overpaying for monthly fees.

What we don't do

We don't require signups, emails, or passwords. We don't link to your bank. We don't sell data. We don't track what subscriptions you enter. We use Google Analytics to understand overall traffic patterns (page views, not personal data) and AdSense for advertising. The subscription tracker itself runs entirely in your browser.
